Hi everyone, Lindsay here! Welcome to my first ever blog post! I'm so excited to be joining the Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team for the 2018 summer term! My card for today is using Hello Bluebird supplies. I think we can all agree that this company is one of our new favorites! Here is my first Design Team order, all Hello Bluebird!
They also have a new release coming this week, which I can't wait to get my paws on!
For today's card, I used the Tropical Foliage Dies. I first water colored two whole panels of Strathmore Cold Press Watercolor Paper using Gansai Tambi Watercolors, one in a green theme and one in a more blue theme (shown here).
I added accents of Gansai Tambi Starry Colors to add in some different gold elements into the watercolor panels. I also added in a lot of splatter using Black Soot Distress Ink and a white gouache. Honestly, I'm splattering everything right now, it might be time for an intervention because I have no plans to stop. After everything was nice and dry, I took out the Tropical Foliage Dies and got to die cutting.
I didn't want to waste any of the beautiful watercolor paper so I carefully arranged all the dies to get the most bang for my buck.
How pretty are these dies! So perfect for any summer card making needs! I then started to arrange all of the die cuts and since I had enough for two, cards, decided to try two totally different backgrounds. So I did one with a white background and one with a black background. I needed my sentiment to stand out so I used some bold greetings from The Stamp Market from the You are My Fave Stamp Set. I stamped onto the background panel with the MISTI using Versamark Ink and heat embossed using Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder.
I adhered some of the leaves using Multi Medium Matte and some of the leaves using Foam Tape for some added dimension.
As a final touch, I've added in some Metallic Gold Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh. If you guys haven't gotten any of these new jewels yet, now is SERIOUSLY the time. Go get them! They're amazing!
Here is my second card, using a totally different color theme, but all the same process.
Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my very first blog post! There will be lots more to come!
Love, Lindsay
