Hey, it's July, and that means we are more than halfway through the year and moving closer to Christmas!!
I am one of those crazy people who is just giddily excited about all things Christmas-related. I start occasionally listening to Christmas music in October and watch every holiday movie known to man between November and New Year's.
I married an incredibly sweet man who actually encourages my love for the season of Yuletide and EVEN suggested we celebrate Christmas in July. You know what this means--Christmas presents when it's hot outside!
To celebrate Christmas in July, I decided to veer away from the normal path and create a holiday-themed card for today.
I started by taping a piece of watercolor cardstock to my work surface. I used three different colors of distress ink (Lucky Clover, Pine Needles, and Evergreen Bough) and an ink blending tool to create the background that's serving as the card panel.
I used my heat tool and dried the panel, and then took a round paintbrush and flicked water on the piece. I used a paper towel to blot up the spots and was left with snow-like spots on my panel, which further added to my festive theme!
I then used one of the sentiments from the Avery Elle Comfort and Joy stamp set and stamped it in Versamark ink before white heat embossing it.
I die cut a white border for the sentiment using the Avery Elle Postage Stamp die and adhered it to my panel. I then trimmed down the card to a 4-bar size and called it a day!
Thanks for reading a long for my holiday installment of my weekly design team posts!
